It wasn’t the smoothest of beginnings. He set off from Yorktown, VA on Sunday only to discover that the road he was intending to take to Williamsburg – the Colonial National Historical Parkway – was closed. After considerable consternation and gnashing of teeth, we drove him to the other side of the construction and he started riding from there.
I formed a negative opinion of Williamsburg when visiting there in the late 70s at the age of 4. This experience did not improve that opinion.
He’s now completed 2 days of riding, covering 140 miles.
Hang in there – you are a hero!
Go Philip!! You’re amazing! We are rooting for you. Will be missing you at Sunday in June
It looks like you’re about to put your first state behind you Phillip! Great work… we’re watching and cheering every step of the way.
So very proud of you and what you’re doing. Enjoy the ride across this beautiful country.
